Pre-Meeting Information

Intercontinental Transport Modeling Intercomparison Organizational Workshop:
Washington, D.C. USA, January 30-31, 2006

The purpose of this workshop is to organize a model evaluation and intercomparison exercise and to develop a consensus on the appropriate methods, metrics, and data sets to be used. A proposed methodology and schedule for collaborative work will be presented, discussed, and revised at the workshop. The modeling evaluation and intercomparison exercise is intended to contribute, over the next several years, to the development of an assessment of the scientific evidence concerning intercontinental transport and to inform international policy discussions under the LRTAP Convention.

The workshop is intended to bring together individuals with expertise in
  • regional and global air quality and meteorological modeling
  • emissions inventory development
  • surface, satellite, and in situ observations of air pollutants

Poster Session

We invite workshop participants and other scientists to bring or submit posters on matters related to the topic of the workshop. These posters will be on display throughout the workshop and provide an opportunity to highlight individual project activities and results. These posters may provide additional information to the discussions and conclusions of the workshop. Should you have the wish to present a poster at the workshop, we ask you to provide us with information on the title and authors of the work via email (, by 22 January.

We will be prepared to accommodate posters up to 4 feet high and 8 feet wide.

If you are attending the meeting, you may bring your poster with you or send the poster to Terry Keating via a delivery service (FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc.) to arrive by Thursday, 26 January at the delivery address below.

If you are not able to attend the meeting, please send Terry Keating the poster via a delivery service by Thursday, 26 January at the delivery address below.

Do not send posters via the U.S. Postal Service as they are likely to be damaged in the EPA's mail screening process.

We have found that is very useful to make 1 page handout versions of posters available to workshop participants to carry away from the poster. If you would like us to make sufficient copies of such a handout available at the workshop, please send a .pdf of the poster that can be printed on 1 page of 8.5 x 11 paper via email to by Thursday, 26 January.

Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to print the full size posters.
